All users of SofaGeek.Com are expected to abide by the following terms of use:
SofaGeek does not accept responsibility for any message posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message.
These terms of use exist not to restrict the ability of the user to enjoy the SofaGeek community. The rules are in place to protect every users right to a free, enjoyable and clean community.

- Adult, racist, or any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate,abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexuallyoriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law is not permitted.
- The posting of copyrighted material is not permitted. Users may post information that is otherwise in the public domain, or quote information under fair use laws. Examples might include quoting an article in part and then providing a link to the original article.
- Whilst users are free to criticise and express opinions on all matters, such criticism must be constructive and/or have substance. For example "This sucks" is unacceptable, whereas "This sucks because" or "This sucks and here's how to make it better" may be acceptable. Contravention of this instruction will result in a warning or temporary ban.
- Double posting is unacceptable. If a user thinks of something to add, they must edit their existing post and not post twice in a row. Double posts are only accepted if the second post takes place 24 hours after the first. Accidental posts should be edited to say "accidental double post" and a moderator will delete it.
- Flaming, or attacking another user is strictly prohibited. Trolling, or the provocation of flaming is also unacceptable.
- Foul language is not permitted.
- Users are only permitted to hold one account. Users found with more than one account may be banned.
- Signatures must be restricted to three lines in length. "Loud" signatures (that is, multiple colours with bold fonts and images) may also be defined as unacceptable by the moderators.
- Spamming is not permitted. Multiple posting on the same subject in different forums or chat rooms may constitute spamming.
- Unless a topic is described as containing spoilers, users must not post anything that reveals plot developments or specific information about a movie or television show - unless making use of spoiler tags.
- New topics must be relevant to the forum and/or zone in which they are posted. Posts within a topic must remain on that topic. Some consideration will be given for topic evolution, but in most cases, a new topic should be started.
